Product Details

Diphenylmercury #DAS 587-85-9

Phenylmercury is a class of organomercury compounds with a core structure consisting of a benzene ring (C₆H₅-) bonded to a mercury atom (-Hg⁺). Common forms include phenylmercuric chloride (C₆H₅HgCl) and phenylmercuric acetate (C₆H₅HgOCOCH₃).

Application of Diphenylmercury

Paint and Coating Industry:

Function: As a mildew inhibitor and preservative, it inhibits the deterioration of paints and coatings during storage and use caused by the growth of bacteria and fungi (such as mold and delamination).

Common Forms: Phenylmercuric chloride, phenylmercuric acetate, etc.

Paper and Textile Industry:

Function: As a bactericide, it prevents paper and textiles from molding and rotting during production and storage.

Adhesives and Adhesives:

Function: Prevents adhesives from being decomposed by microorganisms in humid environments, extending shelf life.
